It took six months to finally close. The prospective buyer was not thoroughly investigated for SBA eligibility.
I assume my responsibility for not making decisions that would have improved the experience but the fees are twice that of a broker working for a real estate agency.
We lined up the buyers. They all complained about the process as administered. After everything is now completed , I do accept that fate not predetermination some times becomes the situation. I do like the people involved in the sale of my business.  I believe it would have been more beneficial for me to have went elsewhere. All this being said these are just my personal thoughts. I found a business online for sale & Trent Lee contacted me for a signed NDA...which I signed. Then he tells me that the owner of the business accepted an offer & is waiting for the buyer to complete the due diligence process. I asked when the owner accepted an offer & his response is a while ago...so why have me sign paperwork for a business that's currently pending sale. Then he says I'll be next in line if the deal falls through then sends me another NDA to complete as well as a request for proof of funds. I responded I'm not sending anything unless the deal falls through. He emails me back to "clarify" that he was talking about a 2nd business that I inquired about when neither of us nor the emails sent mentioned the 2nd business. STAY FAR AWAY THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS!!!! Also I tried calling the number listed on their page & it doesn't even ring LOL!!!

Update: Trent called and tried to make excuses. I'm sorry but if something is going into escrow anyone would be sure to tell you. Bait & switch nonsense 🙄

They have all of these businesses advertised as 100% financing then request documentation from you to make sure that you can "cover" the purchase price. What is the point of the 100% financing? SCAMS!!!

Terrible experience, many promises made to get your listing and aside from putting the listing on various websites (which you can do on your own bizbuysell.com, bizquest.com among others) they weren't very efficient. Also beware that if you list your business and attempt to cancel or fire them, you are locked in and even though you're dissatisfied with they're performance. The agent I dealt with was out of touch and not responsive. In my case they listed the business and posted it on a few websites and waited to for inbound leads. Save the money and use an attorney, it will cost much less when selling a small business vs. BBG $15,000 minimum charge.

I was looking into buying a business they had listed I kept asking in Oct 2019 for figures in Sales and cash flow for 2019. Did not provide I also asked for 2017but told me owner did not have as he bought the business in Dec 2017. I pointed out that he had to be given these numbers when he looked into buying. I asked how can you purchase a business without knowing if sales and cash flow are increasing or decreasing and how could they list a business without knowing this
Only response was that it would cost me at least double the asking price to open a new franchise location of this business. However that has no bearing on the price. Businesses are worth what income they are likely to produce.

Although  we purchased a relatively small business we were treated as if we spent a whole lot more. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience .
